  • Literally watching this after watching him score 50 pts and win the NBA finals. Congratulations Giannis!

    • Yeah right

    • @NBA 2K I.Q ahhhhh, jk!!! Lol

    • @BabyKangaroo no!😳🤣

    • @NBA 2K I.Q he’s def a nice guy, prob like u, can I have it????? 🤣

    • @BabyKangaroo his 1st game we all got his rookie card, I got his rookie card,i was 16 at the time and at the end of 3rd I went down to the courtside n got that card signed after the game.

  • You can't even script a story this good. Best basketball story I've ever seen

    • The dream

    • @Grape Soda looking at all the legends that lives in history, at this point i believe God created them when he's showing off 😂

    • God can make a story this good. And it's really good.

  • "maybe I can be up there one day" when talking about retired jerseys gave me chills.

    • @takito butface as a Lakers fan I wanted Giannis eit the team but they bent backwards for the prima dona n by the looks of it Giannis won't be coming to LA anytime soon probably never

    • hes like abdul jabar he will end up with the lakers, history repeat itself

    • @Slick nick 04 hair stood up on my arm and everything

    • Bro so many chills

    • This also hit me especially the years he says 15 or 20 years, but he did it way less to have his name up there! A champion!

  • "I was making 200 dollars a month trying to help my family" Now three of the brothers are in the NBA. Legendary

    • Who is here after the 4th

    • @Black Millennial the oldest brother lives in Nigeria and plays pro in the leagues over there. Those dudes don’t make much

    • @Braylon Sellers he did i replayed the vid and yeah he did said it lol

    • I thought he said 200 thousand

    • @Seth Stine you correct...

  • Listening to his story reminds me of another player of Nigerian descent who started basketball late, incredible work ethic, a leader, humble, grounded, gives to the community, and an NBA all-time great: Hakeem Olajuwon

    • Never heard of her.

    • not too humble for what he said in the last week about Giannis.

    • @Danny ‘ Nah he's from Dallas

    • @Otis Flanary is Rodman Nigerian ?

    • bro dennis rodman too he started playing when he was like 22

  • Who else is watching this during the 2021 finals, this man's story is inspiring

    • As a Suns fan, I couldn’t be too upset losing to Giannis. Such a good dude. It’s easy to root for someone like him.

    • Me I knew this would pop off as soon as I looked thru the comments the whole who's here after the finals 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

    • B

    • yo I rewatched this and got my sister to be back on the loop with NBA

    • @Kesaven Elayapallavan WE DID IT! NBA CHAMPS!

  • 2013 Reporter: are you gonna be more offense or defense? Giannis: i'll be both 2020: MVP & DPOY 2021: NBA Finals game 6 50 pts. 5 blocks Wow! Congrats Giannis!

  • There is no way that anyone can dislike this guy...came from out of no where, a try diamond in the rough. No I am not a Bucks fan but I love basketball and how it can bring anyone from anywhere together.

  • Love his humility and his heart. His parents raised him right.

    • Greece is a good place to raise children. Not sure he would have ended up where he at now igf he was raised in Baltimore or St Louis.

    • Maybe he wasn't raised

    • @Mossa Avenue thats right

  • Giannis is the human embodiment of dedication and hard work the prince of the NBA is about to level up 🤴🏾🇳🇬 🇬🇷

  • The look of excitement on Giannis’ brothers face when Giannis got drafted @10:00 brought a tear to my eye 😢 that’s real love man.

    • love.. and money, lol

  • I cried watching this, Giannis is my idol on and off the court, I respect this guy so much and just being able to see him play in the Fiserv is amazing

  • "If my family isn't here, I'm leaving" he made me cry !!

  • All the dunks, the scoring, the rebounds and the muscle he gained over his career and still the most impressive thing about this man is his character and family values.

    • Well said. He clearly has a tremendous amount of talent. The work ethic is absolutely world class. He seems to be a very loyal person. Family values are very strong. As good as he already, he doesn't rest. He pushes himself to be better. Go Bucks!

    • Humble backgrounds...

    • Now that's the meaning of life.

    • @Odysseus respect 👏👏

    • The character of a man is always his most important asset

  • One of the greatest stories in sports history.

  • All he wanted is to be an “NBA player”, now he is a champion.

    • Know he is the entire NBA

  • When he retires, his number is definitely going to be up there, just like he told his parents.

  • Sometimes the good guys win and bring good things to others along the way. This is a wonderful story on so many levels. I hope he continues to thrive.

  • Reporter: "And are you gonna be more offense or defense?" Giannis: "I'll be both." Truer words have rarely been spoken.

    • And he went on to be both in the finals.

    • Still true today after seeing game 4 of 2021 final

    • 2x MVP and DPOY. Yeah, we could say he did both.

    • "I'll be both"... MVP & DPOY.

    • And he's definitely lived up to his words. Amazing athlete and an even more amazing human!

  • Who’s here after he won the NBA Finals and Finals MVP? Congrats Giannis and Bucks!

  • I love his character as a celebrity figure. As an athlete he has been very humble over the years this is why he’s probably my favorite player

  • He deserves all his current success, he's on of the most humble basketball players. I came back to congratulate him on winning a Championship. He deserves all the success.

  • Look at his brother at 9:57 when Giannis got selected. "Happiness is amazing. It doesn't matter if it's yours or not" From Ricky Gervais' Afterlife

  • R.I.P Charles Antetokounmpo, you raised a good kid 🙏😢

    • Fly high🥺

    • No wonder giannis name his son Charles after his father.

    • He’s done his dad proud! What a strong family.

    • He raised Gianna's to be humbled and respectful and a great basketball player

    • His shoes say, "my father is my legacy on the bottom"

  • His brother's face when he got drafted is EVERYTHING 10:02 🤧👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿💪🏿

  • His faith in his family is unreal.

  • Giannis is amazing! And even his shooting from range is improving every year! Man, if he continues to evolve like this, by the time he reaches 28 he will be literally unstoppable. When I was a kid I stayed up late (different timezone here in Greece) to watch Jordan's Chicago Bulls. Now I stay up late to watch the Bucks and Giannis play.

  • I'm so happy he never gave up on our city and we never gave up on him. HE DID IT!!!

  • His story gives me hope about life as a whole

    • Indeed 👍🏾

    • Unfortunately not all of us are 7 foot freaks of nature, but it does give hope. Kinda

    • @Greg Dismukes why TF would u say all of that? What are your sources and reasoning? Ridiculous man

    • The more I watch this documentary the more I see predators. They controlled his money to the point he couldn't bring his family to the U.S.A. His handlers will be fired once Gannis wakes up. These people are predators and he will leave Milwaukee one day. And the city of Milwaukee will burn his Jersey.

    • Not me, your falling for the narrative they put forward.

  • watched this aprox 50 times prior to his historic NBA WIN. my favorite is him at 16/17 when he said i want to be in the nba... well well, you have changed the game young man!!!

  • I love stories like this. I guy who comes from nothing to be something amazing. This guy is special. I dont care what critics say about him being one dimensional. I honestly think he can go down as one of the greatest of all time.

  • This video makes me wonder how many amazing players were in a similar situation to Giannis, but were never discovered by the scouts.

    • I was one of them, now I wear a tie and sit at a desk all day.

    • It made me think of players all over the world like that who are yet to be discovered 🤣

    • A lot bro, a lot!

    • Exactly

  • What an inspiring and encouraging story. May God continue to protect him and keep improving in what he does

  • Congratulations Giannis. You did it bro. What an unbelievable story. Kobe is looking down on you with a full heart my man. His story is what mamba mentality us all about. Congratulations to Giannis and the entire Bucks organisation 👏👏

  • One of the most inspiring things Ive ever watched. This made me love giannis even more.

  • This had me tear up a little bit .... I hope he wins the 2020/21 championship and the finals Mvp too 🙏

    • Well I have some good news for you. Not so much good news for me and my Suns tho...

  • Had to watch this after Giannis won MVP. Such a great player with an incredible backstory

  • He gave hope to a generation of our country that had no dreams and aspirations whatsoever. Thank you Gianni, for being Greek. Thank you for everything. All the best from all your brothers and sisters here in Greece. We love you.

  • And now he is an NBA champ! Hard work always pays off man. Congrats to Giannis.

  • His parents did a great job fostering love in their family, live amongst the brothers . My goodness!! They did am awesome job.

  • Watching this after Game 5 made this even more special!

  • You can tell he’s got a pure heart. An innocent goofy kid in the body of a man and future champion 👍 Good luck Giannis

    • @niklay33 that's all I'm saying nothing is free.

    • Dr Yosef Ben- Jochannan Igbo ppl are not dumb at all and I hope with his earlier upbringing he doesn’t forget who the enemy is.Someone or someone’s has an agenda

    • You can tell they isolated him on purpose from his family. I don't fall for these look what I did for this kid stories. All the people you see are predators. Once you see them as such the documentary takes on a different tale.

    • You heard it here first. He's a future NBA champion.

    • Yup

  • I am reading "Giannis - The Improbable Rise of an NBA MVP," and seeing some of that book through this video is amazing. We are so lucky to have him lead our Milwaukee Bucks.

  • I've watched twice in the last month, such an awesome story I would love to see this guy win the championship, would be absolutely amazing!

  • such a touching story! Well done brother! im very proud you lived and grew in our country ! You are an incredible fighting inspiration for life

  • What an inspirational story! God bless this young man💚

  • The part where the guy said "he would sleep in the gym because he had no reason to go home" hit me hard 😨

    • @Joy Joy he born and grow up in Greece, he learn basketball in Greece, he is of Nigerian ancestry, when he feels greek he is for me a Greek.

    • sad

    • That's sad. Family is every reason.

  • You know what dreams do come true for those who worked hard at it.Congratulations Giannis

  • This is so freaking inspirational. Congratulations Giannis you deserve this champion.

  • his story is so uplifting it gives a lot of hope for others no matter what race, religion, status or appearance that they can make it too

  • I’m here before game 5 of the NBA finals, Giannis deserves a chip 🌟

  • Giannis just seems like such a genuine dude man. Props to his parents for raising a real one.

    • @Dimo That's what I am saying,If giannis has even adapted anything greek like in his personality

    • @Jhin a blooming Flower noone looks at blood, its all culture . If you raised in grece you have greek mindset greek values greek language. All that matters are those things

    • @TheSushiraw he has Nigerian genes. He was raised as a Nigerian at home with his parents

    • @Zaire Muana he has some Greek percentage on his personality even if he is a Nigerian he was born in Greece after all,he is like the Afrikan americans,if we do this like that then blacks in america aren't even Americans originally

    • @Zaire Muana what?

  • I watch this every time Giannis does something sensational. So basically, every other day.

  • Dang its crazy, when Giannis was introduced @13:05 the only one clapping was his father. Now he has not only the whole arena cheering him on but people all over the world.. Bravo Giannis kai sta anotera..

  • His story gives me chills for real 💯

  • Watching this on the day Giannis will get his first ring! Gotta love Giannis!

  • He told his parents that maybe his jersey number would be retired up there in 15-20 years. Wow he really could. That’s very motivating.

    • Go Bucks fr how much has the value of the bucks Incresed from 2013 to today? A large percentage of it can be attributed to Giannis, he’s def made the franchise more money than he’ll Recieve from them, same with guys like Steph curry, as the value of the Warriors basically doubled cause of him

    • Of course that's after they burn his jerseys couple of times. Lol Once Giannis fires these predators and move to another team. They'll burn his jerseys, years later after his career is done they'll retire it.

    • he'll be one of the all time greats one day

    • not could. will

    • He will

  • I've been off the nba scene for a few years now so I am very late to this party and i'm telling you right now i'm in tears. Giannis needs his story told on the world's largest stage we need this inspiration.

  • Man my eyes are just full of tears watching this video... This man is such an inspiration

  • Wow, beautiful story-family is everything!! Happy for him and his family!

  • how can you not love this man! more life and more blessings to the ambassador of hope

  • Watching this after watching this emerging legend win his first NBA title while dropping 50! I'm a Laker fan forever...but today you can add Giannis Antetokounmpo to the list of players I'll always root for! (When not playing my Lakers 🤪) Amazing heart, amazing story, amazing outcome.

  • Came back here after he won his first mvp, Amazing and inspiring journey. Good job and well deserved MVP GIANNIS

  • Great story! I wish the best for him and his amazing family

  • watching after Bucks won and love his agents they seems very decent guys God bless them

  • When your dad shows up to your game wearing a blazer and a tie, it speaks a lot about his character. Giannis has the potential to be a serious difference maker not only on the court, but most certainly off of it as well. Judging by the strides he makes each year as player, I can only imagine his growth as a human later in life.

    • I diedddd when they showed his pops with the blazer. That was the best moment of this vid

    • ...and those are some BIG strides.

  • This documentary was truly amazing I am just learning of this young man but his story is truly amazing and inspirational no lie I dropped a few tears while watching this.

  • what a humble person from a humble background. I hope he continues rising and rise consistently.

  • The story of Giannis was amazing 💕

  • I've been on a Giannis documentary/interview binge the past couple of days. On top of being a physical basketball freak, he also thinks and communicates very differently than most athletes. So refreshing.

  • Giannis needs to hold the torch at the Olympics. Hands down.

    • Its pretty simple he is Nigerian Greek. Immediate Nigerian background born in Greece.

    • @skylar payne Mr. Anteto said even himself in interviews recently, that in his house back in Greece( the one they lived by rent , not owned), they grew up with Nigerian ideologies and had nothing to do with Greece, so theres the answer for you. *edit: back in greece so up until 2013.

    • By your definition spanish/hispanic/greek, ect... Americans aren't American because their parents aren't from here

    • @Chad Flexington he was born in Athens Greece, by definition he is Greek

    • @Oscar Li He isnt Greek. He has a Greek passport and Greek citizenship. He is Nigerian, both parents are from Nigeria.

  • Props to Greece and Nigerian parents for raising an amazing person and athlete.

  • They had my man sitting in the stands with the fans? 🤦🏽‍♂️ now I see why he so great. His come up is 10x harder than anybody in the nba ever!.

  • Can't wait for the MVP celebration at Fiserv in a couple of days. Hopefully I get to meet him some time, that would be sick. Congrats dude, you honestly 110% deserve everything and more

  • I admire his love for his family

  • humble and determined, thats real GOAT qualities. Thats my MVP

    • He won mvp lol

    • yes you're right, he is indeed the mvp

    • Now he’s the NBA’s Mvp too

    • @marvinxi15 We Believe in whats in our Heart And we know that it is TRUE

    • @marvinxi15 We Believe on whats in our Heart And we know that it is true

  • Love the story of this young man

  • My love for the him has grown so much more.. I am a true fan... just so proud and god blessed him with the gifts.. He brought the talent... and it is his hard work and dedication that made him who he is.. His parents raised a good son.. and his brothers are truly blessed to have each other

  • The MVP Lads γκρεμιστε τα τείχη να περάσει 💪

  • That GM John Hammond, tremendous vision. Thanks for drafting Giannis.
